Ottawa, ON – URBANA is set for this Friday April 7, 2006, at the Government Conference Centre from 7-10 pm. Whether it is the Kelly Craig Sextet live jazz or the giant URBANA bingo game that has drawn attention, this 2 nd annual event is sure to be another spirited turn out.

places to live," said Mayor Chiarelli. "And events like this help put Ottawa closer to its goal of
creating a city without homelessness.”
To date, eleven local businesses have joined in the fun as Sponsorship Partners for URBANA.
Collectively, over $16,000 in donated services and bulk ticket purchases have helped to make this

Held in one of Ottawa's most unique urban spaces – the old Railway Station entering from Colonel
By Drive, the evening includes live jazz, tasty canapés by Culinary Conspiracy, and a giant
URBANA bingo game that will raise additional proceeds during the event. Each card is $20 and
offers the chance to win one of 6 prize packages. The grand prize donated by WestJet includes a
fabulous trip to 4-season Fernie Resort in BC including air, car rental and accommodations.
This year’s proceeds from URBANA are supporting the national charity Raising the Roof, and locally to Cornerstone, a community organization committed to improving the lives of homeless women. “This event is about the Ottawa community supporting fellow citizens in their time of
need”, says Sue Garvey, Director of Cornerstone.
